Christmas

I was told a few days ago that I post too much stuff about my son on facebook. I ignored the comment that was said and went home that night thinking about it. Xander is my son, he is a part of me. He has spent his whole life with me, literally. X is rarely without me, I'm a stay at home mom. He doesn't spend every day at a babysitter or somebody else's house, in fact, the only time he goes to anyone's houses it's because they've begged to watch him. He was inside of me for 8months. He depends on me to keep him safe, to protect him, and to brag about him. He has become easily the biggest part of my life, and because of that I'm going to post about him on facebook, on my blog, I'm going to text about him and talk about him nonstop and if you don't want to hear about my baby then you can delete me off facebook and stop talking to me all together because my baby is more important to me then you are.

On a happier note, my baby turned 9months on Christmas Eve. (: We had his well-check today(on accident, It was supposed to be on friday but I had to see the doctor today so we just went in today and got everything done.)

Xander
23lbs 4oz, 80 percentile
29.25in long, 75 percentile
all around he is in the 90 percentile

I've been trying to teach Xander about Christmas and reading lots of Christmas stories to him. Christmas Eve we went to the annual Morriss family Christmas Party where we all had dinner and got our Christmas PJ's and presents. Christmas morning we slept in, then Xander woke up to open his presents. He learned quickly how to rip off the wrapping paper and enjoy the new toys underneath it. The train that Santa brought X has turned into a walker and he uses it to walk all through the house. Yep, that's right, my son never crawled and now he walks with help of a walker! (: After we opened the Christmas presents at home we went to Ryan's parents where they completely spoiled all of us! We got lots of presents. Xander got a Battery powered Lightning Mcqueen car that he drives straight, I'd say around but he hasn't figured out how to turn it yet. (: We hope all of you had an amazing Christmas season!

Today I was a bad mom.

Maternal Instinct

"Psychologist Abraham Maslow argued that humans no longer have instincts because we have the ability to override them in certain situations. He felt that what is called instinct is often imprecisely defined, and really amounts to strong drives. For Maslow, an instinct is something which cannot be overridden, and therefore while the term may have applied to humans in the past, it no longer does."- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instinct

Before I became pregnant with X I had thought that 'maternal instinct' was a joke. I googled Maternal instinct and I couldn't find a definition for it, so I thought I would read up on it. Above, is what I found about humans. I found a lot on animals. Such as Sea Turtles, how when they are hatched they will automatically return to an ocean.

My maternal instincts took over when I was pregnant with X but I haven't thought about it until today. While I was pregnant I had a "strong" feeling I was going to have a boy and guess what? I did. Ever since X was born I could tell the difference in his cries. I knew when he was hurting, when he was hungry, when he was tired, when he just wanted to be played with. I knew when something was wrong. I could tell the difference in his actions whether something was hurting him, or he was getting tired, or annoyed. I could tell when he didn't want to be around certain people, and when he wanted someone, even before he could let me know.

Today, however, has been a bad day for my maternal instincts.

Today while X cried, I knew he wasn't feeling good. I knew his belly ached and he didn't want to eat, but I made him a bottle and tried to feed him, ignoring my instincts. As he turned his head and arched his back to get away I thought, why didn't I listen to my instincts?

I picked him up and calmed him down, I took him into the bathroom where his dad was showering, I got him undressed and handed him to his dad to see if the warm water would help, and he started to scream. My husband turned off the shower, filled the bath with water and let X play in the tub. It calmed him down and he seemed happier but he still didn't seem like himself. After a few minutes of playing and a few smiles we went to wash his hair  when he threw up. I got him out of the tub pretty quickly and got him cleaned off. As I was getting him dressed I knew he was tired, so I said the one word my baby HATES, "moo." He usually wont do anything unless he is tired, if he is tired he pouts, then sometimes if he is really tired he will cry. My mistake was knowing that he wasn't feeling good and that he was tired and I still did it.

 I.said.moo.

He pouted, he cried, and then he screamed!

After a few minutes of talking to him and getting him to calm down I decided that I really should start listening to my instincts more often. Especially since every time he looked at me for about an hour after that he would pout and then start to cry.

Today I was a bad mom. I feel badly about what I did to my son today. I promise I will be better.

I do 'moo' on occasion just to see this.

Look at how cute he is! Even when he pouts!

Late night mind.

My mind+ 11p+ working husband= an extremely long and boring post about my thoughts.

• It's crazy how becoming a mom can change the way you look at people, life, and religion.

• after I gave birth I became less aware of my body and have gained more weight now then I did when I was pregnant. Which is why I'm starting my new exercise program tomorrow!!

• Everytime Ryan works night shift I cry. Being home alone with my son at night  makes me think about every thing that could possibly go wrong. (robbery, murder, rape, fire, floods, tornado, hurricane, choking to death, deadly illnesses, ect.-yep my mind even goes to the impossible.)

• Because of Ryan working night shifts, it makes me appreciate and love him even more.

• We will be in Texas next week at this time and I'm sooo excited!!

• I would really like to go get my cosmetology degree and have a part time job but I dont know where/how to start!

• Pinterest is becoming a bad habit at 1am

• My cat is evil. I forgot why I hated cats, now I remember! This kitten won't stopB biting or clawing my son, I'm at a loss of what to do with it!

• The doctors may have finally figured out why I've had horrible migraines! I'm excited to be back to my happy healthy self and be a better mother to my boy!

• My sleeping habits are out of whack! I slept for 36hours after an ER trip the other day, ever since then I've been completely exhausted! Hopefully this goes back to normal along with everything else!

• I have an amazing husband who has stood by my side through everything! I am so lucky to have him in my life. Im not sure how I got so lucky with all of the wrong decisions that I have made.

• The Drama some people cause is out-of-control. Talking bad about a person 4 years later is really just getting pathetic. Get over it, the rest of us did! -right after it happened.

• My husband work schedule is completely ridiculous! I miss him. I know, i know, it could be worse, but 12 hour shifts suck!!

Hope you enjoyed ;)

A Lil' bit about a lil' boy.

A lil' bit about a lil' boy.

March 24, 2012 this handsome boy was born at 5:17p.
He sleeps on his tummy and likes the blanket over his head.
He gets way excited when he sees his daddy.
He loves water.
He refuses to crawl.
He will roll to places he needs to go.
His favorite position is to stand, he has been doing it since birth.
He loves being outside.
He is almost always happy.
He loves being around people.
If you touch his legs anywhere above the knee he laughs.
His back is the most ticklish spot on his body.
He can find his toes as long as they're not covered.
When you say 'bless you' after he sneezes he laughs.
When he knows he is in trouble he wont look at you.
He cries when you say "moo" or if you growl at him.
He has the most pathetic cry ever, it is more like a whimper.
He loves his cat and his dogs.
He hates all food except for fruit.
He LOVES lemons.
He loves cartoons, especially The Lorax.
He is the BEST sleeper.
He refuses to hold still during a diaper change.
He LOVES music.
We get told he looks like me,
And he acts a lot like me too.
He loves his sunglasses.
He has the cutest pout.
And he is a momma's boy!

Cloth Diaper Stash

Cloth diapering

My little boy is now a week over 7 months old. We have cloth diapered days here and there equaling up to be about a week, that's right- I suck at cloth diapering. I have an excuse however, when Xander was born we didn't know that we would be receiving a case of diapers once a month for a year from the hospital. 1 case was enough to last a month, so we haven't needed to use our cloth diapers.Well just a couple of months ago we found out that we needed to go into the hospital and pick up the rest of our diaper cases(8cases) because the hospital is being sued for giving out the diapers. So we picked up all 8 cases in different sizes, and brought them home and then heard one of our friends went shopping for diapers and got her diapers stolen right out of her cart after she bought them! So I told Ryan, that I wanted to exclusively cloth diaper and that I was going to give this friend our cases of diapers we got from the hospital. So now I don't have the excuse of using disposable diapers and I have to cloth diaper!

My cloth diaper stash-

BumGenius 4.0 one size cloth diapers. 6
FuzziBunz One-Size Elite Diaper. 6
gDiapers  Bundle 12 newborn, 6 small, 1 medium+ 80 biodegradable inserts.
Bonnibuns All in one Rapid Dry. 4
BumCheeks  one size minky nappies. 3
Blueberry Snaps Diaper cover. 3
Doopsy One-size diaper. 1.

Accessories-
Prefolds ,12 infant, 12 regular, 12 premium
BumGenius inserts, 1 newborn and 1 one-size/diaper
Fuzzibunz inserts, 2 minky/diaper
Gdiaper Bigodegradable inserts, 80.
Planet Wise wet bag, Large
Blueberry Wet Bag, small
Blueberry FLO Diaper Sprayer

BumGenius is by far my favorite out of all of my cloth diapers, and I'm glad that I have 6 of them. When I grab a cloth Diaper, bumGenius is the one I will grab over any of them. I haven't had a leak or a blow out yet, they have been through my washer and dryer multiple times and are still in great shape, I do wish there colors were brighter, but I absolutely love them! When X got a bad diaper rash a few months ago I put him in BumGenius to keep him dry and happy and his diaper rash cleared up almost instantly! I was very impressed and still wish that from that moment I would have kept him in his cloth diapers!

All-in-one diapers are what I mostly have(BumGenius, Fuzzibunz, Bonnibuns, and BumCheeks) These are very simple diapers, you stuff them with the insert, put them on your baby, then when you change it and it's just wet you take it off shake out the insert into the wet bag and then throw the rest in your wet bag. When its dirty, you take it off, take it into the bathroom use the diaper sprayer to spray off the poo into the toilet, flush it then throw the diaper into your wet bag. When the wet bag is full you unzip it throw it in the wash and thats it. simple.

Fuzzibunz are the ones I bought thinking they would get me to LOVE cloth diapering. But, I don't like them. Its not that they suck either, because I haven't had a leak or a problem with them, but changing the size with the elastics is a pain with a son who doesn't stop growing. You have to change 6 parts in the elastics and then put it back, test it to make sure it fits and if it doesn't then re-do it all, then stuff it.

However, today we are exclusively cloth Diapering with Fuzzibunz, because I am determined to LOVE them. Especially now where X isn't gaining a ton of weight quickly and he is staying the same weight and size for longer periods of times. I really do like the looks of these diapers, they're very bright and slim, they look like he would be wearing a normal disposable, but they're so much cuter!
Pictured is X in a Fuzzibunz and the rest of my Fuzzibunz stash, the top two and the one he is wearing are double stuffed with minky inserts so they look fluffy the rest have just one minky insert!

(He doesnt have a rash, just our carpet is horrible!)

GDiapers are the closest to a disposable diaper that you can get. The inserts are disposable and biodegradable, I use these when we go out and when X is at grandmas or a babysitters because of how easy they are. I have 6 small so when we go out I stuff each of them with a disposable and when I change the diapers I throw out the insert put the cover in the diaper bag and then pull another already-stuffed diaper out and put it on him and go. They're quick and easy.

BumCheeks One Size Minky Nappies. I HATE them. If you go to long to change them(like 2hours) they soak completely through the cover and everything! Especially where by little boy is a heavy wetter! I would never use these out or at night, these would be an "all my other cloths diapers are being washed and I have no choice" diaper! On the plus side, they are very very soft!

Bonnibuns I haven't used yet, but I am excited to use them! They are cute! The bonnibuns look just like the BumGenius and I'm hoping they are just like them. X just barely grew into them!

The blueberry Flip Covers are also too big for X, so we will have to wait on those also.

Doopsy Are just like Bonnibuns and BumGenius, I only have one of them but I like it and if I had to use them all the time I would (:

September/October rolled into one.

Now that our little Xman is almost 6 1/2 months old and learning and moving so quickly it is hard to catch a break to post on our blog. So while X is asleep and before I head to bed I will do a quick update.

This month started out a lot like this, cold and early (:

And because of the cold X found his new favorite spot,
looking out the window since he isn't allowed to go outside when it's too cold

We did manage to get out a couple times,
We went to the new cafe in Logan, Paradise Cafe and we love it!

Fall arrived and the leaves changed
So we took a ride down to the local pumkin' patch and
picked out a bunch of BIG pumpkins to carve, unfortunately
as we were carving I broke out in hives, so no more carvin' for me. (:

I also took on my boring metal star and
gave it some fall leaves to add decor to my door.

We enjoyed my dads birthday by bowling
and eating this yummy golf cupcake cake that I made (:

 We hung out a lot

and laughed and played lots and lots

We sold all of our cute puppies

while X broke in his new tooth by chewing down
a Popsicle

X decided to be a little lazy and decided not to jump, but spin in his jumper.

X took his first trip to the hospital, all for an ear infection :(

So we're ending this month hiding in doors, ignoring the world
so we get this little man feeling like his happy normal self!

July (:

**Guess what happens when you have an awesome photo app, called instagram? You take over 300 photos in a month O.o. Then guess what happens when you have a Canon Rebel T3i? You take over 300 photos in one month with that. Therefor I have over 600 photos in one month... So this might be a little lengthy, however I will save you and not show you EVERY PICTURE. Also I finally figured out how to link stuff, so go enjoy all the fun products that we enjoy!**

July was a very busy and hot month!

And he thinks he is going to keep this one.

or this one...

But dad said no...and X is still begging for one.

We went to the Logan Sidewalk Sales

We Made shirts...

We braided Baileys hair...
Because every little girl needs to do this
at least once during the summer (:

Ryan and I enjoyed our 2year Anniversary...

The same day X got his shots...

The next day he didn't feel so great tho :(

So we left him in his Jammies all day,
and let him wear his shades to make him happy

We took Baileys Hair out of the braids (:

And she slept over, and slept in our
double person sleeping bag (:

I started to draw again..a little...

and we went swimming sm'more!
With this cute little boy..

Bailey gave X some of her Yogurt Parfait,

We took Ry into Clairs...not sure it was such a good idea ;)

We went to That Famous Preston Night Rodeo,
on Thursday night.
Supported mom in her Biathlon
Where she got Third Place!
Then we Rodeo'd it up again on Saturday night (:
Our pups opened their eyes, and got their color.

X decided he likes to hold his New bottles by himself

Grandma Janeal decided X needed
some overalls

I cuddled with my One year old Boxer
Dad bought X some new shoes, on this cute site

And fed X Bananas...
He liked them a lot! (:

& after all that we decided,
we need to relax and get a lot more sleep!
